GWFG's endeavor to enter COSTCO Japan was challenging, marked by four years of fruitless efforts. Nonetheless, their pivotal moment arrived at the 2023 international trade event, FoodEx in Tokyo, Japan, thanks to the collaboration with WUSATA. An encounter with a COSTCO buyer at the event resulted in a successful introduction to the President of COSTCO Japan.

“The COSTCO buyer was so excited that later in the day, they brought the President of COSTCO Japan to the Jack Daniel’s booth. A great connection was made" said Tony Cimolino, the Chief Sustainability Officer & Chief Brand Officer of Jack Daniel's for GWFG.

This connection swiftly led to road shows for Jack Daniel’s BBQ Sauce in two COSTCO stores in Japan, resulting in record sales and plans for expansion. Moreover, the sauce gained exposure on a popular Japanese TV show, reaching millions of viewers. Now, in February 2024, GWFG is currently fulfilling a substantial order, shipping containers filled with signature sauce ingredients for distribution throughout Japan.
